Bishop Douglas Deshotel, Fr. Cedric Sonnier and Fr. Paul Broussard join our journey.
Next year, 2018, will be a milestone for the history of the Diocese of Lafayette. Our Diocese will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The year will be marked with various celebrations around the Diocese to give all of us an opportunity to reflect on the great blessings of faith we have received in the last 100 years. This will challenge all of us to a great renewal of faith and dedication to the task of handing on the faith for the next 100 years. Part of our observances next year will involve a pilgrimage to the homeland of the Acadians who settled in South Louisiana. Forced to leave their homes because of their Catholic Faith, the Acadians brought their culture and faith with them as they started a new life in South Louisiana. We have inherited their legacy.
You are invited to join me and other pilgrims as we travel to Nova Scotia on August 27, 2018 to rediscover our heritage and faith. It will be an unforgettable journey. Hope you can make it.
